What is Sweatcoin?

Sweatcoin is an app with its own currency. When you install the app on your mobile device, it will automatically track your steps. Whether you’re walking around outdoors or exercising inside, the app will monitor your movement.

Although Sweatcoin does not offer cash, you can exchange your accumulated Sweatcoins for rewards such as athletic wear.

Is Sweatcoin Safe & Legit?

Quite simply, Sweatcoin is certainly a legit platform. You can get paid for walking and while you won’t make a full time income, it can be a nice side hustle.

In fact, Sweatcoin has a 4.1 out of 5 rating on Trustpilot. The platform has numerous Sweatcoin review comments praising how easy it is to use and how essentially, you’ll get free rewards just for walking around. This may even encourage you to get out there and do more exercise activities.

How Does Sweatcoin Work?

1. Download the Sweatcoin App

The first thing you need to do is install the Sweatcoin app on your mobile device. Sweatcoin is available for Android and iOS devices. The set up takes just a couple of minutes. Then you can start earning some sweatcoins.

2. Get Walking:

Once you have set up the app on your device, you just need to get walking. The app will run in the background tracking your steps. You should notice no differences to the performance of your device, but it may impact your battery life slightly.

As you walk, Sweatcoin will count your steps. You’ll receive 0.95 sweatcoins for every 1,000 steps.

Of course, this isn’t a massive amount. But, if you have the app running, each of your steps will add up. Within a few weeks or a month, you can start accumulating sufficient sweatcoins to claim a reward.

3. Exchange Your Sweatcoins:

As soon as you have sufficient coins, you can exchange them for rewards. You’ll see the available rewards in the daily offers screen.

When Sweatcoin started, the rewards were mostly fitness related items. However, now there are holiday vouchers, restaurant discounts and even larger prices such as iPhones and Apple Watches.

Of course, you will need far more sweatcoins for these larger rewards. For example, you’ll need 20,000 sweatcoins to claim a Samsung TV. This would require walking approximately 10,000 miles, but if you’re up for a challenge, it’s a superb reward.

How Much Can I Earn With Sweatcoin?

The main way you can earn rewards with Sweatcoin is to walk. However, there is a daily cap on the maximum number of coins you can earn. The basic free level allows you to earn a maximum of five coins per day and 150 coins per month. 20 sweatcoins are equal to approximately $1.

This allows you to walk approximately 5,000 steps per day and earn reward. This is a reasonable amount of steps to maintain your fitness level and contribute to weight loss. But, there are other membership levels if this is not sufficient for you.

Sweatcoin Membership Levels

There are several membership levels, so you can tailor Sweatcoin to your activity level.

Mover: Free

This is the standard and default subscription level. When you install the app, your account will automatically set to this level.

Shaker: 4.75 sweatcoins per month

This membership level increases the number of coins you can earn per day to 10. This allows you to accumulate rewards for up to 10,000 steps every day.

Quaker: 20 sweatcoins per month

Quaker membership allows you to earn up to 15 sweatcoins per day.

Breaker: 30 sweatcoins per month

Breaker allows members to earn up to 20 sweatcoins per day. This is 20,000 steps, making it ideal for highly active people or those training for a sports event.

Trouble Maker: $0.99

This subscription level is a little different. You can earn as many as 50 sweatcoins per day, but you will need to pay for the app. Trouble Maker is a great option if you are planning a serious fitness event, such as a marathon. Since you can accumulate rewards for up to 50,000 steps in just one day. This is just about enough to cover every step in a 26.2 mile marathon.

These subscription levels allow you to tailor the Sweatcoin app to your activity levels and fitness goals. For many people, the free Mover subscription is sufficient. But, if you have some serious fitness goals, it may be worth investing in one of the other plans.

To change your membership level, you just need to go into the settings of your profile page. If the levels are greyed out, you will need to accumulate more coins to pay for an upgrade.

Other Ways to Earn With Sweatcoin

Earn Daily Bonuses

The Sweatcoin app also features daily bonuses. This is a fun way to earn additional sweatcoins.

To claim, you need to click “Try your luck” from the marketplace screen. You’ll find this link under the daily bonus header. After you watch a short ad, you’ll see a wheel of fortune to spin. There are three chances each day to try this. You can win prizes that vary from 0 to 1,000 sweatcoins.

You can check your wallet to see the transaction has cleared and ensure you’ve been paid.

Invite Friends

Sweatcoin also has a referral program. You’ll receive 5 sweatcoins for every friend you refer. There are currently no caps on how many friends you can refer to the platform.

How to Redeem Rewards with Sweatcoin?

There are several ways you can spend your sweatcoins and earn rewards:

  • Physical products
  • Digital offers
  • Pay using sweatcoins
  • Bucket list
  • Marathon offers
  • Sweatcoin for Good

Daily Offers:

This section allows you to claim physical products and digital offers or pay using sweatcoins. The list of rewards in this section continues to grow. There are currently over 160 brands with options including:

  • Workout clothing
  • Shaving products
  • Jewelry
  • Holiday vouchers
  • Restaurant vouchers

These offers vary in price a great deal. There are some items from just 4 sweatcoins. But, for some items you will need 1,500 coins. The daily offers screen is updated each day after 8 am.

Marathon Offers:

These offers are marathons for a reason, as you’ll need to take a long term approach. Marathon offers change all the time, but always offer superb rewards.

For example, you could earn:

  • An Apple Watch
  • A new iPhone
  • Samsung TV
  • $1,000 in cash (this is paid via PayPal)

While it may take several years to accumulate sufficient coins, these large rewards can be a great motivator for your long term fitness.

Bear in mind that Sweatcoin does allow transferring coins between accounts. So, you can invite friends and then combine your efforts, so you can earn great rewards much more quickly.

Sweatcoin Hacks

You should be wary of any website that claims to offer sweatcoin hacks. This is the easiest way to have your Sweatcoin account hacked or get malware on your device. Don’t be tempted into downloading “distance simulating” programs or apps or you risk your computer getting infected with a virus.

Here are a few legit Sweatcoin hacks:

  • Keep it running: If you do want to maximize your sweatcoins, be sure to always have the app running and your device with you. Even something as simple as walking from your car to your office will accumulate some steps. Just bear in mind that it is against the Sweatcoin Terms of Service to carry other people’s phones to try to rack up additional coins.
  • Try cycling: Some Sweatcoin review comments recommend cycling to earn sweatcoin. Although the Sweatcoin algorithm is not set up to award coins for cycling, if you keep your phone in your pants pocket, you’re likely to find that the movement still counts.
  • Choose the right membership level: If you’re a highly active person, who averages more than 5,000 steps a day, you won’t be able to earn the maximum coins with the basic free plan. You’ll need to work out whether it is worth paying the additional coins to upgrade your plan and earn more coins each day. Remember, you can also pay $0.99 for the Trouble Maker plan to earn up to 50,000 sweatcoin a day.

Sweatcoin Pros and Cons

  • Get Rewards for Moving: This may seem silly, but just having Sweatcoin reminding you that you can earn rewards will help you to move more. If you’re conscious about getting the full five coins on the basic plan every day, you’ll meet the CDC recommendations for daily exercise.
  • Allows Sharing: Sweatcoin allows you to share the coins you earn with your family and friends. This helps you all to get a little bit fitter and earn some great rewards. For example, if you, your partner, and your four teenagers all earn five coins per day, in approximately two years, you could collaboratively earn a Samsung TV!
  • Track Indoor Steps: The latest version of Sweatcoin also allows you to track your indoor steps. You don’t even need to use your GPS location. Just enable the option when you install the app.

  • Need to Run Continuously: The app needs to run continuously on your device. If you force it to quit or swipe up, it will stop tracking your steps. However, there is a battery saver mode if you are concerned about your power usage.
  • Some Phones Force Battery Saving: Some phone models automatically force the app to turn off to conserve battery. This will mean that you need to remember to open up the app each time you exercise.
  • Slow Customer Support: Some Sweatcoin review complaints highlight issues with slow customer support.

Is Sweatcoin Worth It?

While Sweatcoin is not going to make you rich, it is a good way to earn rewards and encourage healthy exercise habits. Checking in with the app can help motivate you to walk a little longer to try and hit your 5,000+ steps a day.

The daily rewards offer some great incentives. But, if you’re in it for the long haul, you can save up for some superb Marathon prizes.

So, if you need a little help to get out there and exercise, Sweatcoin could be just what you’re looking for.
