How to Sell a Car to ALGO?

how does algo work

ALGO works quite like car-selling websites these days. Through its online platform, you’ll need to enter your car’s 17-digit VIN or license plate number first. Then, it will ask for the following details:

  • Mileage
  • Vehicle options
  • Loan information, if applicable

You’ll also need to provide your contact details, such as email, phone number, and ZIP code. ALGO will ask for additional vehicle descriptions by having you answer a short questionnaire.

After completing the website process, ALGO will contact you through a video call. Through that, they will conduct a virtual inspection of your car, lasting up to 20 minutes.

In case you’re not available for video conferencing, you can still answer their questions via a phone call. Just contact them at 888-335-3225. Then, upload photos of your vehicle for proof of its condition.

ALGO will go over the information you provided and send you an offer within the same day. Once you receive the offer, you’ll only have 24 hours to accept it. After accepting the offer, ALGO will ask you to mail the title and upon receipt, will arrange the pick-up.

Finally, a representative from ALGO will pick up your car and hand you a check payment.

What Is ALGO?

ALGO is an online platform for selling cars. The car dealership Auto Lenders launched it in 2016, although the company has been in the business since 1979.

ALGO aims to provide a fast and easy option for selling vehicles. Since its launch, ALGO claims to have paid over $2 billion to their customers for their cars.

Who is ALGO best for?

If you’re looking for an online car-selling site, ALGO is surely one of your best choices. Other than that, the platform is also ideal for people who prefer to go for a virtual inspection, rather than bring their car in-store or send photos of it.

ALGO is available in all 50 states. As such, it’s also one of the go-to options for people in Hawaii, Alaska, or other states not typically serviced by other car-selling services.

ALGO payment options

How fast can you sell your car with ALGO?

When you sell a used car with ALGO, you can expect the entire process to take only 2 days at best. From the time you initiated the online process to getting a virtual inspection to ALGO picking up your car.

ALGO’s fast car-selling process is also made faster by its 24-hour offer validity. That means you only have 24 hours to accept the offer; otherwise, you’ll have to go through the online process and virtual inspection again.

Once you accept an offer, ALGO can set up a pick-up time within the same day at best. Finally, you’ll receive the payment before they take your car away.

You can also talk to them directly at 888-335-3225. Besides this option, you can also check out their website’s Frequently Asked Questions section.

You’ll find here information about how long the process takes, what you can expect on pick-up and how to maximize your vehicle’s value.

Can you negotiate with ALGO?

Since you’ll be talking to one of their representatives, ALGO is flexible in negotiation.

Can I trust ALGO to sell my car?

ALGO is one of the trusted car selling services these days, as proven by its 4.7 Trustpilot rating. Also, the platform is run by one of the largest pre-owned dealerships on the East Coast called Auto Lenders.

Is ALGO a real company?

Yes, it’s a real company launched by Auto Lenders in 2016.

What should I expect when ALGO picks up my car?

During the pick-up schedule, ALGO will only take your keys, hand you the check payment, and leave with your car. If you have the keys ready, the process takes less than 30 minutes. You don’t need to worry about the offer amount changing at this point.

Will ALGO buy my car if I still owe money on it?

Yes, you can still sell your car to ALGO even if you still owe money on it. Just make sure to provide your loan details and ALGO will handle the payment to your lender.

If what you owe is more than what ALGO offers, you’ll need to pay for the difference. For that, ALGO accepts money orders or check payments.
