How Does Freebird Work?

Freebird is an app where you can get cashback for your Lyft and Uber rides. It was founded in 2015 in California. Since then, it has gained nearly 150,000 users and has paid out almost a million dollars.

You can start using Freebird by downloading the app and connecting your Uber or Lyft account. After that, you’ll get points every time you book rides. Like other shopping reward sites, you can use the points to redeem cash rewards.

Note that Uber and Lyft will still charge you as-is for your rides. Additionally, you’ll need to use the Freebird app to book rides, and not the Lyft or Uber app.

The app also offers a way to collect cashback by adding your debit and credit card. Then, go out to participating restaurants and bars and use your card to pay. After the bank posts your payment, you’ll get the cashback to your Freebird app.

How Much Cashback You Can Get With Freebird?

How much cashback you get depends on the ride offer you used on the app. It also relies on how far your ride is. Although, it’s fair to say that the longer the ride, the higher the reward is.

There are two cashback offers available in the app: ride cashback and points cashback.

Ride Cashback

Ride cashback shows potential rewards in dollar value. On average, it enables you to earn at least $10 every two weeks.

Points Cashback

This reward option is pretty much what it implies. Some ride offers, instead of cash in dollar value, have points rewards. When you accept those offers and complete the ride, you’ll get points instead, which are around 500.

Then, you can exchange the points for cash rewards. However, you’ll need to accumulate at least 4,000 points to reach the lowest payout amount, $4. Once you exchange the points successfully, the reward will add to your cash balance in the app.

Who is Freebird Best for?

The Freebird app is ideal for regular users of Uber and Lyft as it helps them save money on rides. It also works best for those who enjoy exploring restaurants and bars in the city.

If you’re a frequent Uber or Lyft user or going out on Saturday nights is a regular thing for you and your friends, this app is surely for you.

Freebird Features: What Does Freebird Offer?

The Freebird App

To get cashback for your rides, download the Freebird app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Once you launch this app, you’ll need to link your Uber or Lyft.

At the app’s home screen, you’ll find the search bar at the top. You can use that feature to enter your destination. Then, the app will prompt you to choose a ride-sharing service you linked to it.

Restaurant and Bar Cashback

Besides getting cashback from rides, you can also get cashback from participating bars and restaurants. Using the Freebird app, you can find local hotspots that pay people to go there.

Make sure that your credit or debit card is linked to your Freebird app. Once you get to the restaurant or bar that has cashback offers, you’ll need to use your card to pay. You’ll get your cashback once your card payment posts at the bank.

Cashback Offers For Riding Safe

Freebird ensures that users on the app are taking a safe ride home through its partnership with Guinness and Crown Royal. You can get discounted rides when you use the app to book at the end of the night.

Earn Points on Every Ride

The Freebird app includes features that reward you points anywhere you go. Suppose you’re just driving around the campus, taking a quick run to the store, or picking up coffees. In all these cases, you’ll still get points for using Uber or Lyft in the app.

Once you earn enough points, you can convert those to cash, and withdraw your earnings to your bank account.

Is Freebird Free?

Freebird is a free app you can download on your phone. You also won’t have to pay for anything when you use it to book Uber and Lyft rides.

Freebird Payout Terms and Options?

All your cashback goes into your Freebird account balance. To withdraw them, you’ll need to have:

  • A valid US debit card linked to your app
  • At least $30 to withdraw your funds

Once you withdraw your funds to your debit card, banks typically take 48 to 72 hours to complete the transfer. This processing timeframe only applies when you cash out during business days.

You can still cash out on a Friday night up to Sunday. However, the 48 to 72-hour timeframe starts after Monday morning. This is likely the reason why funds seem to be posting longer than expected.
