Which is Better for Selling the Car?

While both Carvana and Peddle offer several perks if you sell your car to them, Carvana turns out to be better if you’re selling a used car. Peddle, on the other hand, is preferable if you’re selling a damaged car.

Carvana offers 3 payout options – ACH, check, or direct debit. And if you’re looking to purchase a new vehicle, you can opt for their trade-in option. You can choose your next ride instead of choosing a payment option and have it delivered the same day they pick up your old vehicle. Meanwhile, Peddle only offers check payments and no trade-in option.

Getting a free pick-up option from both companies is convenient. Still, you might find that dropping off your vehicle at one of Carvana’s locations affords you the flexibility to choose when to finalize the sale. You can even sell your car to them within one day.

Conversely, setting up a pick-up time and waiting for a tow service team can be a bit stressful. Some customers also complained about their pick-up time getting rescheduled because the tow service partners were running late.

Cars Accepted

You can sell your car to Carvana if it meets the following conditions:

  • Can safely perform a test drive
  • Have a working odometer
  • 1992 or a newer model

Peddle, on the other hand, can buy your vehicle regardless of the condition. Specifically, you can sell a vehicle even if it’s any of the following:

Fees

Neither Peddle nor Carvana charge anything when you sell your car to them. You don’t have to pay any fees when they inspect your vehicle and finalize the sale either.

Requesting Quotes

With Carvana, filling out an online form allows you to request an instant quote for your car. Just go to their Sell My Car webpage and provide your VIN or license plate number.

If you don’t have one, you can manually select the car’s make, year, and model. The downside to this, however, is that you’ll only get an estimate as to how much you can sell your car for. In contrast, providing the VIN will get you the actual offer.

Peddle also lets you get an instant offer by completing their online form. It will also ask for the Vehicle Identification Number, or you can manually choose your vehicle’s make, model, and year.

From there, you’ll need to provide details about the car’s ownership and condition. Additionally, you can get an instant offer by calling their 24/7 hotline at 877-978-1115.

Offer Validity

Instant offers from Carvana or Peddle are good for 7 days after accepting them. It means you’ll need to schedule the pick-up and complete the sale within this timeframe. Otherwise, you’ll need to complete the online form again and get a new offer.

In addition, Carvana instant offers are valid only for additional 250 miles. Suppose you claim the offer within the seven-day timeframe, but the odometer increased over 250 miles from when you made the online application.

In that case, you’ll need to request a new quote again and have them inspect your car before completing the sale.

Payments Offered

Carvana offers three payment options if you want to get cash for your vehicle:

  • ACH or direct deposit
  • Check
  • Debit deposit

Suppose you’re looking to get a new car. You can also opt for a trade-in value towards your next vehicle. What’s great about this option is that you can get your new car within the same day you sell your old one to them.

Meanwhile, Peddle only offers a check payment for your vehicle. You’ll also receive this before their tow partners take your car away.

Payout

Receiving your payment from either Carvana or Peddle can take up to 2 days. Although, you might find that selling to Carvana can be as fast as one day since you can also bring your car to one of their 34 stores.

Car Pick-up

Both companies offer free pick-up after you accept their offer. Carvana lets you choose the day and time for their team to pick up your vehicle.

With Peddle, you can contact their local tow service partner to schedule the pick-up time. In most cases, however, their tow service partner will call you to schedule it as soon as you accept the offer.

Physical Locations

Alternatively, you can bring your vehicle to any of Carvana’s 34 vending machines to claim your offer. The process is similar to having your car picked up: they will inspect it and pay on the spot.

Peddle, on the other hand, doesn’t have any physical locations to bring your car to if you want to claim their offer.

Turnaround Time

Overall, selling to Peddle or Carvana can take up to 48 hours. Completing the online application is usually the fastest step since it will only take around 2 minutes. However, scheduling pick-up depends on your and the tow service’s availability.

If you’re looking for a faster turnaround time, Carvana allows you to bring your car to one of their 34 locations. With this option, you can complete the sale within 24 hours.

Customer Service

Carvana’s customer service team is available through the chat icon on the lower right portion of their website. You can also call them at 1-800-333-4554 between 8 AM to 10 PM EST.

Additionally, Carvana lets you connect with their customer service team through email at customeradvocate@carvana.com. Finally, their social media accounts like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram are open to receive your queries.

Similarly, you can reach Peddle’s customer service through a Chat Now option on their website. Also, their customer team is available through the following channels

Carvana has a relatively good rating at Trustpilot, and some of the things customers mentioned liking are the seamless and convenient car-selling process. On the other hand, Carvana received low ratings from customers at the Better Business Bureau. Most of the complaints, however, came from their car buyers with delivery and warranty issues.

Peddle, meanwhile, has impressed its customers based on its Trustpilot and BBB ratings. Some of the reasons customers prefer them are the fast and straightforward selling process. Others also liked that the towing service assigned to them arrived on time and was professional throughout the transaction.
